Medicare Coverage
According to Medicare Coverage of Cancer Treatment Services , Medicare Part A can cover a portion of your cancer-related and medically-necessary treatments and services. This includes hospice care, in-patient hospitalization, cancer treatments (received while inpatient), and some clinical research study expenses.
Medicare Part B can cover some cancer prevention and screening services (i.e. mammograms, pelvic exams, and prostate cancer screening).
Medicare Part D covers cancer prescription medications. It can be purchased on its own or can be included in a Medicare Advantage Plan.
