What does it cover?
Medicare Supplement Plans can help pay some of the health care costs that Original Medicare (Part A and B) doesn’t cover, including:
- Coinsurance
- Copayments
- Deductibles
Some Medicare Supplement Plans also cover other services that Original Medicare doesn’t cover, such as medical care services when you travel outside the United States.
Things to Remember
Medicare Supplement Plans do not cover everything. Generally, Medicare Supplement Plans don’t cover dental care, vision care, hearing aids, private duty nursing, or long-term care.
Also, please note that some Medicare Supplement Plans sold in the past used to cover prescription drugs. However, Medicare Supplement Plans sold after January 1, 2006 no longer includes prescription drug coverage.
